Veterans Day 2025
My opinion.
Veterans Day is on November 11th every year.
Today, we honor all those who gave their lives and all those who have risked their lives so that our nation might remain free. And we honor, of course, all those who at this very moment are standing watch for freedom and security from our bases across the United States and around the world.
In today’s political climate, Veterans Day serves as a reminder for both celebrating military service and demanding better support for veterans from the government, and emphasizes the idea that service members of all backgrounds put aside their differences to serve a common purpose: to “support and defend the Constitution of the United States.”
It is a day to honor all who have served. Still, amidst deep political divisions, the current political landscape also heightens awareness of issues such as the politicization of the military, accountability for veterans’ benefits and care, and ensuring the military remains non-partisan, as seen in discussions around specific policies or government shutdowns that impact service members and their families.
Here are a few quotes that I like, which also embody what Veterans Day is.
“Courage is almost a contradiction in terms. It means a strong desire to live, taking the form of readiness to die.”
by poet Gilbert Keith Chesterton. He was an English author, philosopher, Christian apologist, poet, journalist, magazine editor, and literary and art critic.
“This nation will remain the land of the free only so long as it is the home of the brave.”
by Elmer Holmes Davis, an American news reporter, author, the Director of the United States Office of War Information during World War II, and a Peabody Award recipient.
“Valor is stability, not of legs and arms, but of courage and the soul.”
by Michel de Montaigne, who was one of the most significant philosophers of the French Renaissance.
My biggest problem with this country at this point is this;
“I, swore an oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God.”
The trouble is that the country I swore to protect is the United States of America against all enemies, foreign and domestic. However, America is fast becoming a country that I swore to protect America from.
If we do not get rid of the current administration, this country will go full-on fascist, it will be the end of Democracy and the end of our rights and freedoms, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights give us.

Thank You 💙💙💙💙
